Why You Should Use Reticare Eye Protector Screens For All Your Device Screens

July 27, 2016 by The Things I Love Most

This sponsored post is a part of the campaign “Protecting America’s Eyes” by Reticare in order to inform U.S. citizens about the importance of eye protection from device screens. The opinions expressed in this post are entirely my own.”

Every day I feel blessed to be able to work part time and stay home with my kids, but sometimes it can be exhausting, especially after a long day when I just want to go to bed and I have work to do.  I hate working when my kids are awake, they hate when I do also, so most of the time I do my work in the early morning or late at night. Sometimes I even sit in bed before I fall asleep and try to finish some of my work. Every morning when I turn the computer screen on my eyes struggle with the brightness of the screen, even at night when I am tired and I don’t really want to be looking at a computer screen my eyes get even more tired. Why You Should Use Reticare Eye Protector Screens For All Your Device ScreensRecently I read these statistics about eyes that I had no clue about.  65% of Americans report experiencing symptoms of digital eye strain which include neck, shoulder, back pain, eye strain, headache, blurred vision and dry eyes. While I am not on my computer tons of hours a day, I know that even just the two hours or so that I might be on it each day I can tell that I have a lot of eye strain, dry eyes, and sometimes get headaches. It went on to say that….Exposure to high energy light can lead to sleep disorders, computer vision syndrome, and a decrease in macular thickness which can regress to macular degeneration. My grandma has macular degeneration, which has been very hard for her to adjust to and I know that I have more chances of getting git, but I also know that there are a lot of ways to take care of my eyes, one of which is where sunglasses, but I don’t really want to wear my sunglasses while I am working in my house. Also children have a much higher risk of damaging their eyes from exposure to high energy light due to the fact that natural lens protection does not complete its development until age 25. Why You Should Use Reticare Eye Protector Screens For All Your Device ScreensRecently I heard about a company called Reticare. Reticare is a screen that goes over your electronic device screen and protect our eyes from three risks. Sleep Disorders, computer vision syndrome with symptoms such as red eyes, blurry eyes, irritated eyes and headaches, and retina damage which is the most important risk. Retina damage can onset glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration which can lead to blindness. Once the retina cell dies from being over exposed to high energy light they don’t recover.

As a mom I am very concerned about the health of my children.  I always help then when they are hurt by taking them to the doctor, giving them medicine or simply putting a Band-Aid on them.  But I hardly ever think about eye problems that could occur down the road.  With all the devices these days that are so heavily integrated into our lives we need to remember to help protect their eyes from hight energy light which is very harmful! Obviously we can reduce screen time which is something I like to do, but with school coming up my kids are probably going to have a little more screen time with some of their school work being on the computer, so I was excited to place these Reticare “lenses” or screen over my computer and iPad. With over 14 years of research and backed by scientific data, Reticare’s eye protector screens can help our eye health by protecting the eyes from the harmful effects of high-energy light emitted through electronic devices we use every day.Why You Should Use Reticare Eye Protector Screens For All Your Device Screens

I received the Reticare screen protectors and I really like them! They came with a great set of instructions, a screen cleaning wipe, and also a  dust cloth to wipe the screen off with after the Reticare protector is placed on the screen.  They were very easy to put on and I have noticed a big difference in the brightness of my screen, and I have also noticed that it does not hurt my eyes as much in the morning and at night. If you want to understand how these protectors works, you can head to their website HERE. I think it is super important to protect our eyes, after seeing what my grandma has gone through with macular degeneration it is definitely something I want to try to avoid as much as possible!
