Tips to Help You Prepare for Daylight Savings + A Giveaway

March 5, 2015 by The Things I Love Most

Daylight savings is coming up THIS SUNDAY!!!  Don’t forget.  You don’t want to show up to late to things! You’ll thank me later for reminding you!  Since it’s spring we are going to “spring” our clocks forward an hour.  By springing ahead, we may fall back on sleep.  My tip in this post….don’t stay up late.  Set your clocks forward so that you know what time it is and how much sleep you will get. Go to bed at your normal time.  It might not be easy but it’s worth it!  Now for kids, sometimes daylight saving can be a bear!  I’m kind of nervous.  At 5:00 the night before I’m going to set my clocks to 6:00 pm and just roll with it. They might not feel tired, but they will at least try to go to bed.  I’m praying that my 6:30 early risers will start waking up later!

Tips to Help you Prepare for Daylight Savings - The Things I Love Most

I’m no expert so lets move onto the real experts tips.  I got to send in some interview questions to Kim West, AKA The Sleep Lady about daylight savings.  She has a book out called The Sleep Lady®’s Good Night, Sleep Tight that I totally need to read. Anyway, take it away Kim…

Isn’t she awesome?I loved all of her great tips!

Check out this infographic Pampers put together from a survey they conducted about daylight savings…

Ugh I am so not ready for Daylights Savings Time! I like your idea of setting the clocks ahead at 5 so the kids think it’s later. I may do that same thing! Thanks for the giveaway 🙂

I can’t stand daylight savings. It’s amazing how one hour can throw your whole family off! But! I do love diapers! I’m 18 weeks pregnant and even though I wouldn’t need a size 6 for a loong time, I’m stocking up as much as I can! I need to win one of your baby stuff give aways. I haven’t had a baby in a long time and all my stuff is behind the times. Haha. 🙂

I am SO not a fan of day light savings time. I think it’s all kind of silly. There are many states that don’t partake in this and I wish we didn’t either. I really don’t see the point. I don’t remember ever forgetting to change the time and now our phones and gadgets all automatically change to the new time. Hello! 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win! Julie smartsavvymama@gmail.com

I haven’t forgetton in the sense that I was late or early for something but I there was the time I never bothered changing the time in the clock in my car. I just left it alone until the time changed again.

  43. Kimberly says

    March 11, 2015 at 12:24 pm

Yes, I am terrible about remembering to change my clock. I was always an hour late or early for school when the time changed. Thankfully I married someone who is on top of things like that for me and we have smarter technology that automatically updates the time.
