Hey everyone! I just wanted to take today and just write. Write about life, write about what ever I want.
What going on in my life? – Life has been SUPER busy! Like crazy busy. While I like being busy, I don’t love being this busy. I am loving school, but there are two days a week that after 1 I am not home until dark. It’s OK though because the other 3 school days I soak in home life and get a lot accomplished!
A couple weeks ago I took my cute kiddos on a road trip, on my own, up to my moms 60th birthday. My husband had to work, so I drove the 4 hours (that I normally sleep when my husband drives) up to where all of my family lives and didn’t once fall asleep driving LOL! My mom had no clue I was coming and was so excited!! We had such a fun surprise party for her at the pumpkin patch! She wasn’t very excited to be 60, but she makes 60 look good, and in the end I think she had a great day!
I also got to see these sweetest girls be blessed. They are my new twin nieces and I wish I lived closer to them so I could just hold them all the time!
While on the trip my sweet mother in law had a mild stroke, but she ended up recovering very well so we came home and did school for three days when we found out that my grandma had to have heart surgery, and on that same day my husbands grandpa passed away. It was a bit of a crazy week for our family members. We headed back up north to Logan to his grandfathers funeral. I didn’t know him very well because he lived in Montana and we never saw him very often, but he was a great man and I wish my kids would have gotten to know him better. We got to see the Logan temple which I haven’t ever seen up close. Isn’t it beautiful!?!
My husband is starting up his busy season! He owns and operates a Christmas Light installation company. While it is great for our family, we hardly see him the month of November, but December is nice because he home tons more!! So pray we will make it through the month of November! Being a single mother is hard. I’m a wimp, I know! So we have been spending a lot of his spare time with him. While up in Utah Valley we went up the canyon to Sqaw Peak and saw all the beautiful fall leaves! It was breathtaking!
What’s on my mind? – Oh this might take me all night to write! Just kidding. What is on my mind lately are a few things. First, I love life! I really do. I am so blessed with a wonderful husband who works so hard and loves me for me! I have great kids who I love so much and I truly love being their mother, I also love being their teacher at home, as hard as it is some days, it is so fun to homeschool them.
Second, Life is hard. No matter what…it is hard. I always thought that if “such and such happened” our life we be great. I was wrong, life is still difficult with new trials. We have struggles on a weekly basis, but I have learned that when I get up each day and do the things that I know God wants me to do, like pray, read my scriptures and exercise he blesses me and helps me get through hard times with a better attitude. The days I don’t I wake up and get those things done I feel grumpy and tired and less patient with my kids. We all go through trials, small things such as a kid made a big hole in the wall (true story) or the kids fighting, babies crying all day long from teething, to bigger things like financial issues or illness. That’s life, and guess what, it’s not going to go away. I just need to realize that I am strong enough to get through exhausting days with kids that are having their own exhausting days, and I can be strong and get through hard things that come my way!
What am I reading– I just finished the Book of Mormon! I was SO excited. For the last 3 months I have tried really hard to wake up before my kids and study my scriptures. I love this book and KNOW it is true and am so grateful for that knowledge!
I am also reading a book called Softly Falling which I will review next month on the blog and a couple kids Christmas books that I will also review in November!
What am I trying to accomplish– I have these cutest stitchings with my kids birth dates and stats about them that I am trying so hard to finish. I am also wanted to make new quilts for my boys beds. It seems like a daunting task, I am not sure that I am going to be able to finish them by Christmas, but I think they would love it.
I am trying to loose 5 more lbs. I just participated in a Meltdown challenge and I lost a little over 9 lbs (you gotta count those ounces, right!:) I feel great, I just have about 5 lbs of baby weight I want to loose! I can do it!!
I also am working with some great people to transfer my blog from Blogger to WordPress! I am super excited, but kind of nervous with the whole change! I just picked out my new header. I hope you like it! Hopefully it will all be done sometime next month!
So there you go! A little bit about what is on my mind and how life is going around here! What’s going on in your life?

Wow, it was awesome to get this great update about what you are and have been doing. I admire you for homeschooling your children. I have a daughter who does it and I know what hard work it takes.
Your mother looks lovely for 60 years and I am sure she was super excited to have you come.
I loved all of the lovely pictures you took of your family.
Life has it’s struggles but diffidently great joys. I love life and the bumps are hard but if you just do exactly what you are doing you will make it through it all.
Blessings for sharing your thoughts on this one!
