Ya’ll know how much I love all products sold at Leapfrog.com! Not because I get free products to test all the time, that’s a definite bonus, but they truly have great products that work great, are educational and are fun for my children. I also love that they stay current with the latest and greatest games according to what kids love. They already came out with their Big Hero 6 game, which my kids can’t wait to play!
Another thing I love about LeapFrog is that they constantly continue the pursuit of making reading an activity that every child and family can enjoy! I am a huge fan of reading with my children. Each school day I love to spend a portion of our time just sitting and reading to them. March is National Reading month and in honor of this LeapFrog is hosting the “20/20 Reading Challenge”. They are hosting this campaign to encourage families to take a pledge to read for at least 20 minutes per day with their kids.
LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc., the leader in educational entertainment, and celebrated Olympic Gold-Medalist Figure Skater Kristi Yamaguchi announced a partnership to raise awareness of the importance of reading to young children with the launch of the “20/20 Reading Challenge.”
For the past 20 years LeapFrog has provided award-winning reading solutions for children, including the LeapReader Learn to Read and Write system. To kickoff its 20th anniversary celebration, LeapFrog has created the “20/20 Reading Challenge” which simply asks parents, grandparents and caretakers to spend 20 minutes each day reading to their child during the month of March. For each pledge received LeapFrog will donate 20 children’s books to The Kristi Yamaguchi Always Dream Foundation, up to $5 million dollars’ worth of books. To participate, consumers can visit www.leapfrog.com/Challenge.
The Kristi Yamaguchi Always Dream Foundation is an organization founded to inspire underserved children to reach for their dreams through innovative reading programs and by advancing the cause of early childhood literacy. As an accomplished children’s book author, athlete and mom, Kristi’s passion for reading ignited the Foundation’s commitment to early childhood literacy.
“We could not think of a better way to kick off our 20th anniversary than partnering with Kristi for National Reading Month to raise awareness on the importance of early literacy. This is such a natural fit as Kristi’s and our missions to help children reach their potential are inherently aligned,” said Greg Ahearn, chief marketing officer at LeapFrog. “Twenty years ago, a dad started LeapFrog from a desire to help his child learn to read. Since then, we have created life-changing educational entertainment solutions that help children develop a life long love of learning.”
