I am missing my families Christmas Sing-A-Long right now. I was just cooking dinner and thinking about being at my Grandma’s house eating yummy appetizers, chatting with all my cousins, aunts and uncles and singing songs for a couple of hours. It made me sad to miss it. It’s hard to be away from family during the holidays.
My favorite songs we sing are
Rudolf…my grandma’s favorite with actions and all!
Mele Kalikimaka….my brother sings this!
Jang Jang…a song my uncles made up.
The Hallelujah Chorus….yes we really do sing this, and it sound awesome!!
In just a min we are going to have a miniature sing-a-long with just my little family. I know call me silly, but that’s ok, we are! Each kid is going to sing their favorite song, my kids have been “When Christmas Comes to Town” they are so cute when they sing it, and we are all going to sing one of my favorite songs written by my uncle…
She glanced through tattered curtains,Out at the falling snow,And all she could see were people outsideWith so many places to go.Alone in her small apartment,One room on the second floor,She new she’d be spending Christmas aloneLike so many times before. It’s funny that nobody comes to call.Could it really be that no one thinks of her at all.She watches for the mailmanfor a letter every day,Just a Christmas card from her son would doThe one who moved away. She walks down to the cornerTo buy a Christmas tree. But she turns around and walks back homeWondering what the use would be.With all the Christmas spirit in the air,You’d think that maybe someone that she knewWould let her know they really care…And put Christ back into ChristmasThe way He used to bePut some tinsel and some hollyAnd a start upon her treeFill the air with Christmas music,Light a candle in her heart. And put Christ back into Christmas time‘Cause that’s the way that Christmas had it’s start. She sits beside her window,Hears footsteps down the hallAnd a tiny fist knocks at her doorSaying someone’s come to call. There outside her doorway.Much to her surprise,Is the little girl from two doors downWith a question in her eyes.I was wondering if you’d like some company?Could you come on back to my house and help us trim our tree.Several hours laterWhen the decorating’s doneThe lights adorn the branches now,And the ornaments are hung. They read the Christmas storyAnd they all sing ‘Silent Night’,Then tears well up in the woman’s eyesAs she tells them all ‘Goodnight.”And as she walks back home she starts to smile,‘Cause she found the Christmas spirit though the caring of a child.Who put Christ back in her ChristmasThe way He used to be,Hang some tinsel and some hollyAnd a start upon her tree.Fill the air with Christmas music,Light a candle in her heartAnd put Christ back into Christmas time,‘Cause that’s the way that Christmas had it’s start.
and then we are going to play games! It’s nothing like being there, but it will have to do.
