Ever since I was little my mom would help us memorize scriptures from The Book of Mormon as part of our daily family devotional. As I grew up I memorized scriptures for seminary and eventually in college memorized The Family: A Proclamation to the World. From all this, I still struggle with remembering scriptures and finding where they are. I decided with my kids this year we are going to memorize scriptures that have helped me in my life. We have started with the Articles of Faith, since to me it is a huge foundation for our religion and very important for my children to not only memorize but understand. We spend a week on each scripture and not only memorize it but talk about it and it’s meaning and how we can apply it to our lives.
I loved the talk The Power of Scriptures by Richard G. Scott given at conference.
I am grateful for my “friendship” that I have with the scriptures, I KNOW they are true. I hope to better my study of the scriptures so that I can become closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ and try to become more like him. It is true what he says about how “Scriptures can calm an agitated soul, giving peace, hope, and a restoration of confidence in one’s ability to overcome the challenges of life.” Even just reading a few verses a day brings peace into my life and help me through my days!
If you don’t have a Book of Mormon and would like one you may email me and I will be happy to send you one or you can also read the Book of Mormon online HERE.
Link up with me and share a post you have written about the Book of Mormon!

I think about D&C 6:36 all the time too. I need it to get through life and make daily choices.
Thanks.
