I was excited when Planter’s ask me to tell you guys about these fun and motivational videos. Check out this one called A Gift from Nature…
I find it quite funny to see Mr. Peanut giving a motivational speech! Don’t you? I love the line “Harnessing the Power of the Peanut is about accepting gifts that nature gives us”. You could think about that in a lot of ways, including about yourself!
In talking about being grateful for what nature has given us, It has been so fun this last month to harvest a lot of things from my yard/garden. From apricots, to sunflower seeds, cherry tomatoes and pomegranate, we are totally enjoying these yummy gifts from nature.
Ironically enough I couldn’t get peanuts off my mind last week. I even wrote about how while trying to eat healthy I mostly missed peanut butter…not the health food store kind of peanut butter, but the really sugary kind. I got to thinking about how I have been eating and how I am feeding my family. For the last year I have tried really hard not to buy a lot of processed food.
In doing this eating plan, I have realized that the best foods to eat are gifts from nature. I started thinking about how I don’t have to have peanut butter, I can just have peanuts. A true gift from nature. Two perfect halves in it for the long haul! Peanuts really are so yummy, and have and will be around forever. Packed with seven grams of protein per serving as well as as a bunch of nutrients, they are a perfect snack!
Speaking of snacks, my kids love snacks. I wish I could just feed them 3 meals a day and they would be fine, but with four growing children {soon to be 5 since he is 7 months and doesn’t eat snacks yet}, snacks are a must. Some of my kids favorite snacks are fruits, veggies and especially nuts. How about your kiddos? Any ideas of healthy snacks? I’d love to hear them!
